Popularly known as the “Mahatma“, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was the main person to free India from its foreign rule. Indians call him “bapu” , considering him as father of the nation and there is at least one street in every town,district and city of India named after him.

Indian freedom movement led by him won international popularity because of his principles of non-violence and truth. Gandhi believed Truth is more supreme than God and always abided to speak truth. His “three vows” given to his mother when he was travelling to abroad for the first time stands as a guiding mark to all the Indian youth.

Born in Porbandar town in Gujarat state of India on 2nd october 1869, Gandhi changed the fate of India by winning freedom to it through an absolute non-violence policy. His life is an excellent example that proved the effectiveness of leading a simple life by always speaking the truth, practicing non-violence and simplicity. His austere and truthful lifestyle is always a role model to all the people who love the God and the Truth.

Indians celebrates his birth anniversary on Oct 2nd every year as “Gandhi jayanti” and pays tributes to the father of the nation. Bapuji lives in the hearts of all Indians and all those global citizens who love peace and truthful way of life, forever and ever!!
